PTFE (TFE) and Kynar are both experiencing long lead times.

PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene  product PTFE (TFE) as well as Kynar-PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar which is mined in Mongolia and China. The world demand for this mineral has risen significantly, and also the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and incredibly low co-efficient of friction (slick) and is used throughout a lot of applications from non-stick fry cookware to ptfe tape for use at home. This mineral is actually the important raw material within the manufacturing of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and a lot of refrigerants. This rise in demand joined together with shortage of raw materials is responsible for a dramatic price increase (almost double throughout the last year), shortages, and we expect these two factors to continue in the near future.
